The descent

Every love story begins as a spark. Sometimes it dazzles, sometimes it blinds. We meet someone and believe we have found our missing half, the one soul destined to complete us. In the language of our age, we call them twin flames, soulmates, the other side of our heart. For a time it feels true. The projection glimmers so brightly that we cannot see what lies beneath. But the descent always comes. The pedestal cracks. Illusion shatters. The person we loved becomes human before our eyes, and we become human to them. This is not failure but invitation — an initiation into the mystery of love that is deeper than desire, deeper than fantasy, deeper even than the ache of loneliness. This book is my journey through that descent. I followed the rabbit hole of soulmate myths, of Sufi poems and tantric whispers, of longing so sharp it bordered on despair. I believed in the fire of twin flames, until the fire burned me hollow. What I found on the other side was not another human being but a Presence — the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, the one Christians call Holy Spirit. Here I weave memoir and meditation, story and scripture. It is not a manual or a set of instructions, but a pilgrimage in words. I write to those who have loved and lost, who have felt the sweetness of union and the ache of separation, who have wondered if love is illusion or if it might be more real than anything else. If you choose to descend with me, know this: the journey is not easy. It strips, it humbles, it reveals. Yet at the very bottom of the rabbit hole, where the myths fall away, there waits a love that is not fragile, not fleeting, not dependent on another’s gaze. A love that is Person, not projection. A love who is true.
